Connect Instagram
Add a creator’s Instagram account from your computer, or with a QR code on the creator’s phone. No password is shared.
Kinuly publishes through Meta’s official API. The creator approves access on Instagram’s own page and Kinuly receives a permission to publish, never their password. Owners and managers can connect creators; your email must be verified and your plan active.
Before you start#
- The account must be an Instagram professional account: Business or Creator. To switch a personal account, open Instagram → Settings → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account.
- You need a free creator slot. The number of slots depends on your plan.
- Each Instagram account can be connected to only one Kinuly workspace at a time.
Choose how to connect#
Use this when you can sign in to the creator’s Instagram in your browser.
Start the connection
In Creators, click Connect Instagram and choose On this device. A window opens on Instagram’s authorization page.
Sign in and approve
Sign in with the creator’s Instagram account and approve every permission requested. Kinuly needs all of them to publish and to read statistics.
Done
The window closes and the account appears in Creators, usually within a few seconds. If you authorized several accounts, Kinuly asks which one to add.
Use this when the creator is with you, or when Instagram is only logged in on their phone. The phone doesn’t need a Kinuly account.
Show the QR code
In Creators, click Connect Instagram and choose On my phone. Kinuly shows a QR code, a link you can copy, and a countdown.
Scan and approve on the phone
The creator scans the code with their phone’s camera, signs in to Instagram if needed and approves every permission.
Keep the Kinuly page open
Your computer finishes the connection automatically. The account appears in Creators as soon as Instagram confirms. You can close the page on the phone.
When something goes wrong#
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The account is already in another workspace | An Instagram account can only be in one workspace. Remove it from the other workspace first. |
| No eligible account came back | The account is personal, or a permission was left unticked. Switch to a professional account and approve every permission. |
| The link expired | Attempts last 20 minutes. Start a new one from Creators. |
| All slots are used | Remove a creator you no longer manage, or upgrade your plan. |
| Mismatch when reconnecting | You signed in with a different Instagram account. Reconnect with the same account that was connected before. |
Reconnecting#
If Instagram withdraws access (a password change, a security check, or permissions removed in the Instagram app), the creator shows Reconnect needed. Click the reconnect button on the creator’s row and authorize the same account again. Reconnecting an account that is still in your workspace doesn’t use another slot.
