Post statuses
What each status means, why a post can be blocked or failed, and what to do about it.
| Status | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Saved without a date. Doesn’t use quota. | Edit, schedule or cancel. |
| Scheduled | Waiting for its time. Quota is reserved. | Edit or cancel. |
| Submitting | Being sent to Instagram right now. | Wait a few seconds. |
| Processing | Instagram accepted it and is preparing the media. | Wait; usually under a minute. |
| Published | Live on Instagram, with a link. | Open it on Instagram, read its statistics. |
| Failed | Instagram refused it. The quota is given back. | Read the reason, fix the file or caption, and reschedule. |
| Blocked | Kinuly held it back at publish time (see below). | Fix the cause, then edit and reschedule. |
| Needs review | Kinuly couldn’t confirm whether Instagram published it. | Don’t repost. Check the creator’s profile; Kinuly support reconciles it. |
| Cancelled | Cancelled before publishing. The quota is given back. | Edit it to use it again. |
Why a post is blocked#
At publish time Kinuly checks that everything is still in order. A post is blocked, never published by surprise, when:
- the creator’s account needs reconnecting,
- the plan has expired (renew it from Plan & billing),
- the workspace owner’s email isn’t verified, or the account is suspended,
- the post was moved into a month whose quota is already used.
Blocked posts keep their quota until you edit or cancel them.
Why a post fails#
Instagram refuses a post when the media doesn’t meet its rules, the caption contains something it rejects, or the account was restricted. The reason appears on the post. Fix it and schedule again; the quota of a failed post is already given back.
